She is at this time working with renowned producer T Bone Burnett as associate music producer for the Sony film “All The King’s Men”, composing a song for the film which is performed by Ann Savoy and her Sleeplss Knights, her vintage style jazz group. As a writer, she is the author of the Botkin award winning book, Cajun Music, A Reflection of a People, a book which chronicles the history of Cajun and Zydeco music through interviews, biographies, historic and current photographs, and song transcriptions. She wrote the chapter on Cajun and Zydeco in the recently released book, American Roots Music, Rolling Stone Press, as well as authoring numerous articles on Cajun music and historic CD booklets. The album Clarity received little support in the United States from the band's label, Capitol Records. The band purchased albums directly from the distributor and shipped them independently to Europe, achieving success in Germany. Realizing they were not valued by their label, they left for DreamWorks. Their next album, Bleed American , found much greater success stateside due to the catchy single and provocative music video 'The Middle'. The album's name was changed to Jimmy Eat World after the events of September 11, 2001 in order to avoid misinterpretation of the original title. Their latest album Futures was released in 2004. The name Jimmy Eat World does not refer to Jim Adkins. Tom Linton's younger siblings, Ed and Jimmy fought constantly when they were younger. Jimmy, who was stronger and overweight, would usually win. Ed, at 8-years-old, as revenge, drew with crayons a picture of Jimmy shoving the entire world into his gaping mouth with the caption, 'Jimmy eat world.' The picture, and by extension the band name, may have been inspired by an episode of the cartoon show Tiny Toon Adventures, where the regulars put on a student film festival. Dizzy Devil's film, 'Dizzy Eat World', was a 5 second piece drawn crudely in crayon where Dizzy's gaping maw engulfed the Earth. The piece met with deafening silence from the toon audience.

She graduated from Valparaiso magna cum laude in 2001 with a BA in Music and in 2005 with MA in Liberal Studies (History Concentration). In 2009 and 2012, she was invited back to her hometown to present solo recitals for the Jacksonville Public Library's Under the Dome concert series. In 2010, she attended the American Harp Society National Conference in Tacoma, Washington. From 2013 through 2014, was hired to work in Mumbai, India, and was highly sought after for performances throughout the country, including playing Bollywood hits on the harp (sometimes even in a giant bubble!). In 2015 and 2016, she lived in Lagos, Nigeria, where she played frequently for the events at the Irish Consulate in that city and the Irish Embassy in Abuja. In May of 2016, she partnered with Tunde Jegede, kora virtuoso, and the Musical Society of Nigeria for the world premiere of the New Horizons African Ballet. Recent engagements include a series of performances for the Gulf Brands Expo in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. She is the owner of The Music Factory in Springfield, Illinois, a studio offering Musikgarten music and movement classes for children from birth through age ten, and advanced musicianship classes and private lessons for older children, teens, and adults. Alt-J formed when band members Gwil Sainsbury (guitar/bass), Joe Newman (guitar/vox), Gus Unger-Hamilton (keyboard) and Thom Green (drums) met each other while studying at Leeds University in 2007. Gus was studying English Literature while the others did Fine Art. They first started recording in their dorms and used Apple software GarageBand to produce their music. Having been through several name changes including 'Daljit Dhaliwal' and 'Films', they settled on Alt-J which is often depicted as the Greek symbol for delta which can be typed using the alt key and letter 'j' on an Apple OS X keyboard. When Alt-J left University, they moved to Cambridge where they began further work on their music. They signed with Infectious Records in 2011 and soon released their first EP (self-titled) in London which was produced by Charlie Andrew. It included the tracks ‘Breezeblocks’, ‘Hand-Made’, ‘Matilda’ and ‘Tessellate’. Their song ‘Bloodflood’ and ‘Tessellate’ were released on a single in October 2011 by Loud and Quiet. They released their debut album ‘An Awesome Wave’ in May 2012 which hit the UK charts at number 13. It was later released in the US on Canvasback Music and won the Barclaycard Mercury Prize. In 2012, they supported Wild Beasts on tour and also made appearances at a variety of festivals including Latitude, Tramlines, Bestival, Reading and Leeds, End Of The Road, Milhões de Festa, T in the Park, Green Man, Pukkelpop, Lowlands, and Into The Great Wide Open.

We have many fine musicians who join the band from time to time. < Polka Roster Jon Dietz & THE TWIN LAKES TRIO Polka Acts < Previous Slinger, WI, USA Next > Jon began his musical journey at the age of 8, when he began taking concertina lessons from his father Russ at home in the small town of Montgomery, Minnesota. Over the years, Jon’s dad took him along to see many of the greatest Polka bands, where their musical stylings left their impression on him. The 6 Fat Dutchmen, Karl and the Country Dutchmen, Ray Dorschner’s Rainbow Valley Dutchmen, just to name a few. The concertina playing in these bands was second to none, and Jon strove to model his playing after theirs. In his 5th grade at school Jon took up the trumpet, and in the summer before his 6th grade year, he had transitioned to the tuba. He continued with the tuba all throughout high school, performing many solo and ensemble pieces and earning top scores with each one. He auditioned into the MMEA All-State band both his Junior and Senior years, chairing in the top 3 each year. At age 14, Jon was able to save up enough money to put a down payment on his very own concertina, purchased from Cliff Hermel who owned a Radio Shack music store in St. Peter MN. In 2004, Jon moved to Southeastern Wisconsin with his wife Jenny and their son Zack. There, he began playing tuba with The Goodtime Dutchmen, and played full-time with them for several years. Jon continues to play tuba whenever his schedule allows, playing for great bands such as Barefoot Becky and The Ivanhoe Dutchmen, and Gary’s Ridgeland Dutchmen. He now resides in Slinger Wisconsin with his wife Jenny, who is the glue that keeps everything going together smoothly, and their 2 sons Zack and Xaver. Their younger son Xaver has also been learning the clarinet and hopes to join the band very soon! Founded in 1993 by Brian Wicker and Kyle Copeland. The original line-up included Joe Williams (bass), Brent Childers (drums) and Bill Jones (vocals). Their inaugural gig was at The Filling Station in Terrell, Texas. Like many bands, The Silvertones have had several line-up changes throughout the years. One of the most influential Silvertones members was Walter Delesandri on lead guitar. Sadly, Walt passed away in 2003 from a massive heart attack and he is still greatly missed. Each member that has moved through the band brought their own style, soul & contributed their talents to The Silvertones reputation as a “killer” live blues band, in addition to being a four-time winner of the Dallas Observer Best Blues Band award. Since 2012, the band's lineup has solidified with original member and founder, Brian Wicker on bass, Randy Ball on drums, Leo De La Vega on guitar, and Rob Donavan on lead guitar. The Silvertones’ set-list, with about half being original, reflects the various influences that the band members grew up listening to. Their sound is primarily blues, with a hint of jazz, and an infusion of swing, rockabilly, and rock & roll. Averaging 80 gigs a year, you can see The Silvertones live at Dallas and Fort Worth music festivals, clubs, restaurants, and even at Fort Worth Swing Dance Society dances. You will love how we perform these great tunes. We do tight, harmonic vocals along with tasteful, well thought out insturmentation. OITW as a band has evolved over the years, starting out as a trio, doing mostly acoustic tunes, to adding a fourth member on keyboards. We have maintained that mix of vocals and instruments over the last several years, with personnel occasionally changing as our lives, jobs, etc. change. You will love the current band. It is the best it has ever been, with amazing tunes, vocals and instrumentation. The name: Of course Olde & in the Way is a somewhat derogatory phrase, if you want to take it that way. We prefer to be a bit self deprecating in our overall view of our journey on this planet. Actually we "lifted" the name from a now pretty much defunct bluegrass group that was composed of Jerry Garcia (deceased), David Grisman, Herb Pederson, and Vassar Clements (deceased). We were amused by the phrase,and determined to use it for a band name when the time was right.
