Delafose was born and raised in Eunice, Louisiana. At the age of eight, he joined his father’s band, the Eunice Playboys as a rubboard player and continued to play with the band until his father’s death in 1994. He also appeared on the several of the bands recordings. He switched to the accordion in the early 1990s and started to play as an opening act for his father. In 1994, he debuted with album French Rockin’ Boogie on Rounder Records. The name of this album also became the name of his band with whom he still plays with today. He released two more albums from the label, before signing with Time Square label to release Everybody’s Dancin’ in 2003. He has also appeared on the compilation album Creole Bred: A Tribute to Creole & Zydeco released in 2004 on Vanguard Records He has been nominated for a Grammy Award in the “Best Zydeco Or Cajun Music Album” category for his Le Cowboy Creole album (2007).He lives in Duralde, Louisiana near Eunice where he operates his Double D Ranch raising cattle and horses. Clifton Chenier used to play in French Town back then, French Town was a pocket of French Creoles established in Houston. I learned to play the music very quickly, absorbing all I could by watching and really digging the music. I became good enough to actually start playing music in the white part of town which at the time most white folks in Houston did not know what Zydeco was. It became very popular and successful among the white folks to the point where I was playing 6 to 7 nights a week and holding a full time job, it was fun but stressful at times. Several years later I made a move to Lafayette, Louisiana and started all over. By that time Zydeco music was starting to change and had lost its traditional formula. The Clifton Chenier style of Zydeco was no longer being played much at all, a new style emerged and became very popular among the younger generation. Proving myself, hard work paid off and I became well established around Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Lake Charles and New Orleans. In the year 2000 I made a move to Austin, Texas with my family. I took a break from music for almost 3 years and then I started missing it so I began playing again. Upon honorable discharge in the Fall of 2009, he moved back to Texas, and eventually landed a job in Brenham, TX as a power lineman for the city. It was then that he started a band called 'The Linemen'. The group disbanded in 2012, the same year their album was released. Leaving the power line business in 2013, Hodges started his solo career, landing a record deal with 2 independent record labels. In 2015, with the songwriting help of his wife (Jamie), he released his first song 'Getting Back to Country'. It did well, peaking at #23 on the Texas Charts. That same year, Hodges was invited to the The Country Music Association of Texas Awards, where they named him the Male Rising Star of Texas in 2016.
