  • Julianna Barwick

< Ambient Previous Next> Ambient Acts Brooklyn, NY, USA Julianna Barwick Book Direct: https://www.14thfloormusic.com/product-page/book-entertainment-for-julianna-barwick About Julianna Barwick "Gorgeous & immersive on first listen & never loses its sparkle. She has tapped a vein of expression that is rich & powerful & affecting" - PITCHFORK "Her ethereal multi-tracked harmonies have the devotional quality of gospel choirs, and the oddball allure of Björk or Yoko Ono." - THE NEW YORK TIMES "Describing this hazy, hallucinogenic album from Brooklyn's Julianna Barwick, you can neatly take Panda Bear's trippier tracks as a jumping off point, as Barwick loops and layers beautiful vocal harmonies with a similar slow-motion deep sea vibe. But this lovely debut is more than just derivative, and the wordless sound collages are transporting" - OTHER MUSIC "Lacking definable lyrics, Julianna’s songs create their own themes sonically and leave nameless emotional impressions. Julianna’s talents as a vocalist push most of the musical strength in the album, her choice of melodic vocal overdubs with vocal percussion is fascinating and dizzying. Some sounds become as indecipherable as the human voice. Comparable to Björk’s Medulla approach to end instrumentation, most of the tracks are all vocal based. Julianna’s all vocal album has less of a political method behind it as does Björk’s Medulla; it’s based more on her natural approach to songwriting: spontaneously improving and recording immediately. Many of the songs were written on the fly." - TIME OUT NEW YORK

  • John Redmon

< Easy Listening Roster < Previous Next > John Redmon Colorado Springs, CO, USA Easy Listening Acts Since age 5, John Redmon has had a deep love and appreciation for music. His mother, Cynthia Redmon, an accomplished pianist, took him under her wing and taught him the musical art, encouraging him to play alongside of her in various church services. By age 12, he was not only being encouraged by his mother and other piano instructors to play both by ear and sight, but also to compose original works. By 1994 Redmon decided to not just compose but house his original works within his own independent record label and named the company Reaching Records. The label’s purpose and motto was to ‘reach and touch hearts around the world.’ For the next twenty years, he did just that by producing and releasing multiple projects on his label that eventually gained national and international attention and recognition, including: A Woman’s Journey (featuring Grammy Award Nominees Vickie Winans, Brenda Nicholas and of course a motivational testimonial from his own mother Cynthia Redmon), John Redmon & Friends: Faith, Love and Unity, Volumes 1, 1.1 (featuring BeBe and CeCe Winans, Daniel Winans, Phil and Brenda Nicholas and Grammy Award winner Patti Labelle), S’Agapo (I Love You) – his first R&B / Pop Album which included covered the Whitney Houston classic “All At Once” , and his biggest and most successful/notable single release Thank You Lord (Story of the Shunamite Woman) that was highlighted at a Jimmy Swaggart Easter Conference. In 2015 he started The Piano Series under his label and not only recorded his Christmas Classics , Gospel Classics and Hymn Classics albums, but set up a tour to promote the records. Some of his special guest artists who dropped by to perform at his special events included George Sisneros, Ron McMillon and Thomas Dawson, Jr. music director of the Commodores. In 2016 Redmon performed The Star Spangled Banner at the Pepsi Center at the Nuggets vs Cavaliers game on February 21. In this same year, he created and hosted a weekly radio show called Matters of the Heart on JBCM radio that dealt with painful testimonials and sensitive, current issues that were sealed with hope. Some guests included: Grammy Award nominee Rodney Friend, Hollywood actress Linda Purl and his most popular interview to date…his mother Cynthia Redmon. In 2017 Redmon and Thomas Dawson, Jr. had a vision. The vision was to give children a voice, a pulpit, and a platform to sing, minister, testify, preach, pray, teach and evangelize the world for Jesus Christ. Believing that children have a voice and should not only be seen but also heard, Kids Love Jesus Too children’s praise and worship album was born and a movement began. The album highlighted kids of all ages from around the nation proclaiming their love for their Jesus in song, word and testimony. Guest artists included: Tina Lewis-Glenn, Theresa Morton, Phil & Brenda Nicholas, Katie Reeves, and Delaney Chough. Infectious songs like Little Things were birthed from this project and a kids tour was underway. Redmon has toured all over the United States and England with his inspirational messages found in both word, song, instrument and voice. He testifies and believes that his latter days are going to be greater than his past. His charm, professionalism, passion for both humankind and his music along with his disarming, radiant smile and infectious laugh makes him a favorite amongst both his audiences and fellow musicians. • Ayreon

< Ambient Previous Next> Ambient Acts The Hague, Netherlands Ayreon Book Direct: https://www.14thfloormusic.com/product-page/book-entertainment-for-ayreon Best known for his musical project Ayreon , Arjen Anthony Lucassen was born on April 3rd, 1960 in The Hague. Both Arjen and his older brother Gjalt were good students, but unlike Gjalt, Arjen wasn’t interested much in studying. A notorious trouble-maker in class, Arjen decided to pursue a career in the music business after graduating high school. During his teens, Gjalt always teased Arjen a lot, and Arjen has been taking his revenge by playing jokes on his brother in the credits of his Ayreon CDs. If you look carefully, you’ll find a Gjalt ‘joke’ in the booklet of every CD released after 1995. Arjen’s love of music was sparked in the 60s, when he became a big fan of the Beatles. He started buying albums in the early seventies when the glam rock era started and bands such as T-Rex, Alice Cooper, The Sweet, David Bowie were rising stars. Arjen really wanted to be in a band but he was too lazy to learn to play an instrument so he started a play-back band mimicking his heroes Alice Cooper, Slade, and The Sweet. He actually did get a lot of gigs in schools and already then he was a busy guy. Then one day one of the older pupils approached Arjen saying “You have to listen to this,” and handed him a copy of Deep Purple’s ‘Made in Japan’. “Glam rock is OK, but this is really great.” When Arjen listened to it and heard Ritchie Blackmore’s guitar playing, he knew what he wanted: to play guitar! So he learned to play guitar and went through a stage where he had a lot of different bands until 1980. One of these bands was called ‘Mover’.

< Back Tim Chirikalov Comedian Acts Atlanta, GA, USA < Previous Next > D L Styles I performed at my first open-mic almost eight years ago and haven’t stopped since. I now host a monthly stand-up comedy showcase in Decatur, perform all over Atlanta and the country, as well as being a comedy writer for companies and businesses that want to use humor for their brand. What started off as a hobby, has now become a career. It’s almost impossible to get fired when you’re self-employed. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?Nothing in comedy goes smoothly. Writing material takes a while. You don’t know if an idea is funny until you try it out on a crowd. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. No other profession is like that. Electricians don’t require a group of people to watch them work on a circuit before figuring out if it works or not. Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?I’m a stand-up comedian and writer. I’ve performed all over the country for all types of events. From parking lots in Florida to theatres in New York. Being funny is all that matters. What am I most proud of? I’m not sure if I’m particularly proud of anything. Sometimes I wish I had kids so I could say I’m proud of them because that seems to be the easy way out of this question, I’m proud of my imaginary kids. The youngest one just graduated from Harvard and the oldest was just promoted to drug lord. They’re the apple of my eye. What sets me apart from others? You’d have to ask the others. Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?Stand-up is mainly a solo endeavor, but there’s been a lot of support along the way. My family was skeptical when I first started, but I think now they’re convinced I’m not about to become a lawyer or doctor anytime soon, so they’ve become my biggest fans. Also, my girlfriend, Sierra, has been amazing. She’s really funny so it’s great to have someone close that I can bounce ideas off of. My brother Dennys also makes me laugh all the time so it’s great to see that comedy is genetic. Book Direct: https://www.14thfloormusic.com/product-page/booking-information-for-tim-chirikalov

  • The Creswell Club

< Jazz Roster The Creswell Club Jazz Acts New York, NY, USA < Previous Next The Creswell Club is a constellation of musicians who specialize in music that makes life better. We're rooted in jazz standards and music from the 1920s and 30s, but we're experts at branching out; we can play everything from swing to bossa nova, Motown to the Rat Pack, Edith Piaf to Lana Del Rey. We play hard, we dress well, and we look like we're having a blast (because we are!). We're here for you. We love talking with clients about styles and song lists. We know thousands of songs, and we're always eager to try new songs and new arrangements. We can be anything from a duo to a septet—and, because several of our members are multi-instrumentalists, we offer guitar, piano, bass, drums, sax, trumpet, clarinet, banjo, accordion, and vocals. Members of The Creswell Club have played with the most celebrated names in modern jazz (and beyond), including Herbie Hancock, Dave Brubeck, Chaka Khan, and Ray Charles. We were the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 Top Jazz Ensemble. But none of this matters when we're playing together. When we're playing together, what matters is the music. What matters is the mood. What matters is the moment we're all sharing together—you, us, and the people in the room. If you're planning an event, we'd love to hear from you. Contact our bandleader, Dan Martin, and let's talk about what's possible. Book Direct: https://www.14thfloormusic.com/product-page/booking-information-for-the-creswell-club

Alt-J formed when band members Gwil Sainsbury (guitar/bass), Joe Newman (guitar/vox), Gus Unger-Hamilton (keyboard) and Thom Green (drums) met each other while studying at Leeds University in 2007. Gus was studying English Literature while the others did Fine Art. They first started recording in their dorms and used Apple software GarageBand to produce their music. Having been through several name changes including 'Daljit Dhaliwal' and 'Films', they settled on Alt-J which is often depicted as the Greek symbol for delta which can be typed using the alt key and letter 'j' on an Apple OS X keyboard. When Alt-J left University, they moved to Cambridge where they began further work on their music. They signed with Infectious Records in 2011 and soon released their first EP (self-titled) in London which was produced by Charlie Andrew. It included the tracks ‘Breezeblocks’, ‘Hand-Made’, ‘Matilda’ and ‘Tessellate’. Their song ‘Bloodflood’ and ‘Tessellate’ were released on a single in October 2011 by Loud and Quiet. They released their debut album ‘An Awesome Wave’ in May 2012 which hit the UK charts at number 13. It was later released in the US on Canvasback Music and won the Barclaycard Mercury Prize. In 2012, they supported Wild Beasts on tour and also made appearances at a variety of festivals including Latitude, Tramlines, Bestival, Reading and Leeds, End Of The Road, Milhões de Festa, T in the Park, Green Man, Pukkelpop, Lowlands, and Into The Great Wide Open.
